Returning with magical displays across Sloane Square, Sloane Street, Duke of York Square and Pavilion Road - and, for the first time, new ‘gateway lights’ for the King’s Road, to celebrate its regal heritage.
The new displays will see decorative lights inspired by the crown of King Charles II, who the Road was originally built for as a private route to travel between palaces. He famously restored Christmas to the nation following Oliver Cromwell’s ban on festivities for over a decade.
The switch-on will be celebrated in style from 2pm on Saturday 23rd November, with an array of unmissable entertainment including carol singers and performers spanning across the neighbourhood, perfect for the whole family. At 5pm, Father Christmas and his ‘special helper’ – a local child in particular need of a Christmas treat – will turn on the Christmas Lights. Hosted at Sloane Square, the big switch on which will see Duke of York Square, Pavilion Road, Sloane Street, and King’s Road light up, marking the start of the Christmas season.
