Discover ‘Light Up Nine Elms’ this winter; marvel at Jony Easterby’s animated projections of elm trees that will illuminate the area’s buildings.

Pippa Taylor’s detailed drawings of the nine elm trees that give the area its name will come to life after dark for nine nights in December, their silvery branches transforming residential blocks, construction sites and public plazas.

Explore the illuminations while enjoying a night out in Nine Elms or follow organised trails to see the elm projections on buildings old and new across the community, including New Union Square, ROSE community clubroom, Brunswick House, Elm Quay Court on the Thames river path and five other locations.

The Nine Elms place name has been traced back to the 17th and nine elm trees were known to be standing on Nine Elms Lane in the 1840s.

The illustrations, created by artist Pippa Taylor and projected by Jony Easterby, are commissioned by Wandsworth Council to celebrate the history of the area's elm trees.
