The Architects Underground is an all-new live event experience from RIBA that celebrates creativity through the lens of architecture.
Each Wednesday evening, the iconic 66 Portland Place comes alive with some of the most incredible minds across art, film, music, design and, of course, architecture.
To celebrate 100 years of the Bauhaus School, The Architects Underground will be hosting a special night of art, design, fashion, dance, architecture and music – all inspired by one of history's most influential and important design movements.
The current lineup includes:
Weimar cabaret and their acoustic band will accompany a selection of special guests including Suggs' from Madness and Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama and Shakespears Sister, as they perform classic songs from Cabaret and Kurt Weil
Eva Franch i Gilabert, the youngest and first female director of London’s influential Architectural Association, will be sharing her bold ideas about Bauhaus’s influence on popular culture
William Orbit, the virtuoso musician composer and producer who has sold 200 million records, will be playing an exclusive soundtrack created to bring Oskar Schlemmer’s ballet movie extracts to life within today’s modern context.
British designer Fiona McLean, known for her graphic lines and angular references, will delight us with a Bauhaus-inspired fashion show. Her Flora Menswear label was listed as one to watch in 2019 London Fashion Week and her designs have been worn by Beyoncé, Paloma Faith and Erykah Badu.
Before the main event, join us at The Architects Underground pop-up Bauhaus Bar for a unique weekly cocktail inspired by history's greatest architects. This is a chance to meet like-minded people, exchange views, discuss opportunities, debate ideas, find clients and discover something truly new.
