2019: Following on from the success of Summer by the River, London Bridge City is pleased to announce the return of London’s most picturesque festive market, Christmas by the River, which will run from Tuesday 26th November through to Sunday 5th January.
Perfect for family and friends, Christmas by The River boasts 70+ stalls alongside the return of a busy schedule of creative workshops, to keep both parents and little ones busy over the Christmas break. The festive stalls will offer a stunning array of boutique gifts and delicious world cuisine, for a unique Christmas shopping experience with unbeatable riverside views.
New to this year: Voted the best Christmas market to impress a first date1 in the UK, this year’s Christmas by the River is sure to set hearts racing once more with a sophisticated, vintage ski theme.
With picture perfect views of some of London’s most iconic landmarks, the ski themed bar at The Scoop, will be the ideal London location to stave off the cold and enjoy a hot toddy. With more live music scheduled for this year, visitors will be transported to elegant snowy peaks of the Alps.
Back by popular demand, the six-week event will see festive crafts workshops return to The Pier’s pop-up winter workshop, visitors will be able to try their hand at a range of arts and crafts from Christmas wreath making to Christmas jumper decorating in support of Save the Children.

Join Hackney Arts and learn how to decorate and personalise your Christmas baubles, just in time for the festive season. This drop-in style customising session will be open to all so you can create a super special bauble that will make sure your Christmas tree stands out from the rest.

Using printing techniques to show visitors will be shown how to make unique cards and beautiful wrapping paper designs, a great way to add a special touch to your gifts this year.

Welcome every member of the family into your home with a beautiful Christmas wreath. Using all-natural decorations including pine cones, eucalyptus leaves, cinnamon sticks or dried fruits, make sure your guests get into the festive spirit even before they cross your door.
• Wednesday 18th December, 12pm – 1pm and 1pm – 2pm | Winter Wellness Workshop
The Winter Wellness workshop will teach guests how to prepare their own all natural herbal products, from tea-bags to bath products. Once visitors have learned their own techniques, you can make your own wellness items all year round.
