A series of four workshops on 16 April, 30 April, 14 May and 28 May – booking includes all four.

How do we “find power” in the face of endless narratives of despair, apocalypse and defeat? What possibilities emerge from imagining new futures which disrupt existing power dynamics?

Join Ama Josephine Budge for four empowering bi-weekly writing workshops. We will create alternative worlds, taking sci-fi as a point of departure and centring marginalised and queer protagonists. Together we will map-out several short stories during the first workshop, and develop them over the course of the 2 month programme. At the end of the course you will have the choice to present your work at a public event, receive feedback from a panel of experienced writers and be provided with a cheat-sheet of publications and podcasts to consider submitting to.

This course is for writers, activists, and those who would like to write and/or change something they feel passionate about, but have never had the chance to start.

No prior experience necessary– LGBTQ+ and people of colour are particularly welcome to join.

There is a limited number of accessible places, available on a first-come-first-served basis.
