For the very first time, models of the finalists from the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2011 including the Neues Museum by David Chipperfield Architects in collaboration with Julian Harrap will be displayed for public viewing.

Also on show at the Roca London Gallery will be model projects from five other finalists; Bernard Tschumi’s Acropolis Museum in Athens (Greece), Koen van Velsen’s Rehabilitation Centre Groot Klimmendaal in Arnhem (The Netherlands), Martine De Maeseneers and Dirk Van den Brande’s Bronks Youth Theatre in Brussels (Belgium), Zaha Hadid, Patrick Schumacher and Gianluca’s MAXXI: Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome (Italy) and Jean Nouvel’s Danish Radio Concert House in Copenhagen (Denmark).

The prize (worth €60,000) is the most prestigious award in European architecture and the six finalists exhibited were chosen out of 343 entries by a jury of six key players in the design and architecture world.
