The Tree of Life and the Eternal Garden

An interfaith art exhibition inspired by the Christian and Islamic traditions, featuring new artworks by Christian and Muslim artists, responding to the theme The Tree of Life and the Eternal Garden.

The Tree of Life is a unifying symbol and one that can cross cultural and religious divides. It is redolent of the Abrahamic Tree, which is comprised of all the branches, flowerings and fruits of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths. Foliate and floriate motifs are common to both Christian and Islamic art. The artworks in the exhibition look at the differing ways that these motifs are used, represented and developed in the visual cultures of the two peoples and the underlying, common symbolism and shared heritage.

All of the artworks are by the Tree of Abraham Artists ( Tom Bree, Lisa De Long, Diane George, Amber Khokhar). All of the artists studied sacred and traditional art to Masters or Phd level and bring their expertise to this exhibition.

The exhibition is presented in association with The Christian Muslim Forum and is sponsored by the Altajir Trust and the Westhill Endowment.
