Described by Gramophone magazine as "one of the finest British pianists of his generation", Charles Owen has performed extensively to outstanding critical acclaim. He has appeared at major international venues such as the Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Musikverein, the Carnegie Hall in New York… His chamber music partners include Katya Apekisheva, Julian Rachlin, Adrian Brendel, the Vertavo and Carducci Quartets. He is a frequent guest at festivals (Bath, Cheltenham, Perth…) and has performed with several orchestras such as the Philharmonia and the London Philharmonic.

Winner of numerous awards, Charles studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School, at the Royal College of Music and with Imogen Cooper. Charles’ recordings include piano music by Janácek, Poulenc and Fauré, as well as cello and piano sonatas by Brahms, Schubert, Rachmaninov and Chopin with Natalie Clein. Charles Owen is a Professor of piano at the Guildhall School in London.
