The Perfect After School Tea Party for Parents and Children

Family-friendly neighbourhood restaurant, The Crooked Well is located in the heart of Camberwell, and serves honest good food using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.

The restaurant has launched a Tea Time Menu for parents and children to enjoy from 3pm ‘til 6.30pm every weekday. The restaurant is perfect for families to visit for an after school snack, or mums to meet for an afternoon chat over toast and tea. The Crooked Well prides itself on its delicious food and laidback ambience – even dogs are welcome!

Honouring the age old institution of proper British tea, The Crooked Well will offer a do-it-yourself ‘Crumpet Station’, where guests can toast their crumpets to perfection and add lashings of butters, English fruit jams, or Marmite after a hard day at school!

For adults wanting a more substantial snack, they can choose from a range of Toppings on Toast, including smoked salmon, cheese, Gentleman’s Relish, baked beans, egg and even freshly made guacamole. Warming homemade soups are also available, as well as a selection of Winter Salads and a substantial sharing dish for two of Rabbit & Bacon Pie.

The Crooked Well has a comfortable, rustic charm, combining oak floorboards, traditional wooden wainscoting, strong patterned botanical influenced wallpapers and a Victorian tiled bar area with intimate, low hanging pendant lights. Shelves filled with homemade pickled vegetables, jams and chutneys lines the walls and an assortment of furniture, from intimate banquettes to wooden restaurant seating adds to the relaxing ambience. In the evenings, church candles light up the exposed brick fireplace, providing a warm focal point.

The Bar at The Crooked Well is proud to make its own range of infusions, cordials and syrups used in the cocktail menu that offers both innovative British drinks, such as the Earl Grey Martini - the bar’s refreshing, zingy take on an afternoon tea, and classics such as, Four Roses Old Fashioned - a drink to sit and ponder with, using bourbon and orange.
