Yoga for the mind is an 8-week course addressing depression
and anxiety, working directly with the mindbody
relationship to help individuals create and maintain
emotional well-being. Combining yoga postures
(asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and restorative
properties of mindfulness, with psychotherapeutic
holding; this course meets the physiological and
psychological aspects of depression and anxiety. Students
learn how to be with uncomfortable sensations in
a safe setting, while also learning how to create joy and
contentment. At the close of each session there is a
small discussion and an opportunity to reflect on how to
refocus the mind, and how to be face difficulty. All levels are welcome.
