This summer, when the first UK retrospective of the career of French shoe design superstar Christian Louboutin opens at the Design Museum in London, there will only be one place for fashionistas to rest their weary (but well-shod) feet post-show – and that’s The Blueprint Café, the glamorous bistro at the Design Museum.

As it already looks likely that this hugely anticipated exhibition be one of the biggest hits the Design Museum has ever seen, D&D London’s The Blueprint Café will be offering its famously style-conscious diners the chance to be a part of it with a superb lunch offer for just £25 that will include a fabulous two course lunch, a Bellini as well as a ticket for the show. As always at The Blueprint, menus will change with the seasons but sample dishes on the ‘Christian Louboutin’ lunch menu will include: Goat’s Cheese, Piquillo Pepper & Pomegranate Salad with Toasted Pine Nuts, Roast Skate Wing, Curly Kale & Caper Butter and Valrhona Chocolate Pot with Marinated Cherries and Shortbread. Tickets for exhibition will be for the morning sessions (from 10am to 1.45pm, with last admission 30 minutes before the end of the session).

The Blueprint Café’s Louboutin lunches are set to be events in themselves, as exhibition-goers discuss shoes in obsessive detail over cocktails and delicious seasonal food. The airy dining room is a wonderfully relaxing place in which to do so thanks to its subtly elegant design and impressive river views. Signature blue binoculars are placed at every window seat so guests can take in the views – or spy on any passing fashionistas’ footwear!

‘Christian Louboutin’ at the Design Museum runs from May 1 until July 9, 2012. The exhibition will celebrate the career of a man whose name is as well known as those of the Hollywood stars, supermodels and pop icons on whose feet his jaw-droppingly beautiful shoes with their instantly recognisable glossy red soles can be seen. It will look at twenty years of his designs and inspirations, as well as the latest collections including handbags and a range of shoes for men. There is a limited daily availability for tickets so booking in advance is a must!

The Design Museum, founded in 1989, is the world’s leading museum devoted to architecture and industrial design. Its work encompasses all elements of design including product design, graphic design and fashion.
