An Orlando Chamber Choir concert tracing origins, development and rise to prominence of Scandinavian choral music. Directed by Richard Wilberforce, the programme delves into the 16th century treasury of northern European medieval songs, the Piae Cantiones, and visits the richly cosmopolitan court of King Christian IV of Denmark. The musical journey ends in the sweeping harmonic landscapes of Jean Sibelius and his living heir Einojuhani Rautavaara.
