New voices, uncompromising visions: discover the boldest and bravest in international cinema at the 11th East End Film Festival with a week of exclusive premieres, red carpet galas, industry masterclasses and pioneering multi-platform events.

Running 3-8 July at venues throughout east London including the Barbican, Genesis, Rich Mix and Rio Cinema, the festival invites you to enjoy six days of discovery with cinema’s most challenging voices.

Now one of the UK’s largest international film festivals, this year’s EEFF will be opening with Maurice Linnane’s documentary ‘Arena: Amy Winehouse – The Day She Came to Dingle’, in the beautiful St Anne’s Church, Limehouse. Other highlights include a screening of the 1922 German Expressionist horror ‘Nosferatu’ accompanied by a soundscape to be performed live by Minima and a 60-piece choir. To coincide with other key dates in London’s July calendar, there is a whole host of Olympic themed films to mark the occasion and with the biggest date in the queer calendar, WorldPride, EEFF have an exciting partnership with World Pride and Amnesty supporting a diverse programme of LGBT films, including the award-winning ‘Call me Kuchu’.

What’s more, we have compiled our list of jury-members; Joe Wright, Dexter Fletcher, Sandra Hebron and Adrian Wootton who will be deciding which filmmaker will follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner Vikranditya Modwane, director of ‘Udaan’, who as this year’s director in residence will providing the festival with a focus on Indian and Bangladeshi films.

On top of all that we will feature our usual premiers of films that have been creating a stir on the International film festival circuit, including award winners from Berlin, Cannes and Sundance and of course premieres from local London talent. All this will be rounded off with our closing Gala screening with the UK premier of ‘The Last Elvis’.
