The world’s biggest wine competition is opening its doors to the public for the first time this June.

The Decanter World Wine Awards is the biggest global wine competition, employing a panel of over 200 international experts to taste their way through over 13,500 wines. This vast pool of wines is then whittled down to the very best in their respective regions and price brackets, which are awarded medals or trophies. The competition has been organised every year since 2004 by Decanter, the UK’s most widely-read consumer wine magazine, but this is the first year that the magazine is opening its offices to the public to come and taste the winning wines.

The judging takes place at the end of April, and the results will be announced on 22nd May. A large selection of award-winning wines will be available to taste at the Blue Fin Building (20 Sumner Street, London SE1 9JZ) on 27th June. Tickets will be priced from £20 per person and will be available to purchase from decanter.com
