The paintings that float across the walls of the Haberdashery cafe are like the flickers of emerging memories and small but significant moments; interconnected and informing each other at the same time.
In Katy Fattuhi's 'writing paintings' every mark and every colour you see is made through the physical act of writing; over and over again. It's as if the conversations within the Haberdashery are seeping up its walls... into the fabric of the place. And a place, after all, becomes the experience we have within it.
Cafe-goers are encouraged to actively evolve this work over the month of the exhibition, by weaving their own hand written words into the paintings, entwined with the lines ... What's in the breeze?
Proceeds from the exhibition will go to Amnesty International
