Join an Exciting Choir - Charity Concert for Malawi

Do your bit, the fun way. We're looking for talented singers to be part of a prestigious and challenging 'Journey to Africa' project.

The Performance.

It’s shaping up to be a very special evening on Saturday 7th July 2012. The charity attracts an already enthusiastic, loyal and appreciative audience. We’re going to take them on a flight-themed musical journey through France, Italy, Spain and North Africa before touching down in Malawi for some lively sounds.
We're also fortunate to be joined by the amazing Al-Andalus Caravan who will transport you to North Africa with their authentic and atmospheric rhythms.

All of this will be accompanied by London’s most delicious home made African food and drink. We hope that the event will attract a good crowd. The Mayor of Wandsworth is confirmed and the Secretary of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP is amongst the guests expected to attend.

The Rehearsals.

Don't worry, there aren’t many. We know you’re busy. They're just on Thursday 21 June, 28 June and 5 July May 6.30pm-9.30pm, in Central London. The rehearsals will be led by John Vallance, the Conductor of the London Contemporary Voices and Music Director of the GEOIDs musical theatre company.

The Venue.

The Putney Methodist church is a huge, bright, warm, venue with excellent acoustics and great transport links served by bus, tube and train.

The Charity.

You’ll love it. All the money goes direct to help children in communities in Malawi. The projects are overseen by Sarah Mtonga, the charity’s founder, and so there are no management fees or administration costs. The money goes directly into improving sanitary conditions, providing drinking water and setting up schools in Malawi.
