Architecture enthusiasts and design devotees can make themselves at home in Victoria this summer, as Land Securities’ Cardinal Place gears up to host an exclusive exhibition and one-off event as part of the London Festival of Architecture.

Cutting edge design and style magazine Wallpaper* has chosen to team up with Land Securities, the UK’s largest commercial property company, to host Architects Directory: 20 for 2012, its iconic exhibition of renowned artist Peter Crawley’s unique artwork. Wallpaper’s annual Architects Directory, a highlight of the magazine’s July Design Directory issue, is the ultimate little black book of new architectural talent, showcasing a selection of up-and-coming architects from around the world.

Peter Crawley, who also created the cover for Wallpaper’s August 2011 Handmade issue, has been commissioned to create 20 beautifully hand-stitched art pieces which each in some way represent the work of the architectural practices which come from different countries across six continents.

Opening to coincide with the 2012 London Festival of Architecture, the exhibition will be held at the SW1 Gallery, Cardinal Place, right in the heart of Victoria. Land Securities has revealed ambitious plans to transform the area around Victoria Street into a place for Londoners to enjoy, people to visit and a place that businesses and individuals are proud to call home.

To involve the public in this transformation, Land Securities and the London Festival of Architecture are also hosting an ‘in conversation’ event, Vision for Victoria: Meet the Architects, at Cardinal Place on Saturday 30 June. Chaired by Peter Murray, Director of LFA and Chairman of the NLA, the event is a chance for members of the public to find out more about developments in the area.

Land Securities’ Leasing Director Tom Eshelby will be joined by Lee Polisano from PLP, one of the architecture practices working on Victoria Circle, the new jewel in Victoria’s crown which will lead to a vast increase in public space around Victoria Station.
