Former Strawberry Switchblade Singer Art Exhibition @ Le Garage

A unique solo exhibition of paintings at le Garage in Herne Hill.
Musician/ songwriter for Strawberry Switchblade, Jill shot to fame with their top 5 hit “Since Yesterday”. The band spawned the Gothic-Lolita style and continues to have a cult following in Japan. Agoraphobic from a young age, Jill wrote about her struggle with the outside world in the band’s first single, “Trees and Flowers”. The song was a Top 10 Indie hit and won critical acclaim.

Jill now celebrates the natural world through her art, which has a strong Pop Art and design sensibility. Her use of bold colours and gold and silver leaf is influenced by Art Nouveau, Baroque and iconoclastic art. The work mirrors Jill’s strong sense of humour, joy and playfulness and focuses on flowers, portraits and collage. This is a unique opportunity to see and purchase work which has until now been bought by private art collectors.
