The Kim Geung Soo Ballet company present the contemporary ballet La Chun Hyang choreographed in 2009. It is neither a classical ballet nor contemporary dance piece but rather a mix of traditional Korean culture with Western ballet. The musical score uses Korean and western instruments and the production features traditional costumes made of traditional Korean paper.

The story is based on a Korean classic novel which based on a truly universal theme - love story. La Chun Hyang is rooted by the story of Chun Hyang Jeon, which is a classic Korean tale of love and fidelity. In the same vein as Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, this is a re-adaptation of an old story for a modern audience to excite and move them.
