'Safar: A Journey Through Popular Arab Cinea' is a series of classic and contemporary popular cinema running from 21 - 27 September and presented by the Arab British Centre. It includes gripping dramas, subversive comedies and exaggerated melodramas, taking in an array of re-mastered cinematic masterpieces and new releases, many never before seen on British screens. The programme explores a fifty-year period of filmmaking that demonstrates the diversity and complexity of Arab cinema with highlights including screenings of 'Alexandria, Why?', 'Bosta' and 'Terrorism and the Kebab.'
