Boundless Arts
A celebration of deaf and disabled arts and culture in Peckham

On Sunday 2nd September, Boundless Arts will transform Peckham Square to celebrate the creativity of deaf and disabled local performers and artists with live music, dance and art exhibitions.

Singer story-teller Kate Portal, the Southwark-based Samba band Bloco Maluco and the groups Corali Dance and Ready Willing Able will get Peckham singing and dancing. Deafinitely Theatre will perform the poem Spring/Winter from their production ‘Love’s Lost.CoolTan Arts will engage the audience with dynamic drawing and paper making workshops whilst the Shape Arts and the Southwark Resource Centre artists will showcase their work.

Other highlights of the day include comedy by Liam O’Carrol, poetry and story-telling, inspirational talks, an art installation and films.

Pere Ramirez, Southwark Arts Forum Events Coordinator explained:

“Disabled artists can struggle to get the recognition they deserve. Boundless Arts will bring more visibility to these talented artists and will create a platform and a legacy that will be growing year after year. We feel truly excited to be able to show case their work in this festival - it’s going to be an amazing day”

The festival is produced by Southwark Arts Forum and is part of The Elephant and the Nun, a family festival featuring nine events coordinated by London Borough of Southwark's Events Team. Boundless Arts will take place from 1pm to 7pm across Peckham Square, Peckham Space, Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse.
