On Saturday 29th September Headway House is opening its doors to launch ‘15 Years of Headway East London’. Taking place in Headway House garden over-looking Regent’s Canal, the event will highlight the hugely varied activities that take place there and Headway East London’s continued support to those affected by brain injury. With interactive workshops for both children and adults, guided tours, talks, Q&A sessions and a short film screening, you can get as involved as you wish; or you simply relax with a fresh stone baked pizza from the clay oven and a refreshing drink from the bar which will be open all day.

The open day will also highlight the Towpath Project, a venture realised by Headway East London to renovate the towpath on the opposite side of Regent’s Canal. Members are producing a mural and the strip of derelict ground is being landscaped to form a new, vibrant part of London Waterways; there will be opportunities on the day to get involved in producing a portion of this project!

Artwork created by members will be on display and sold through silent auction a drinks reception will be hosted by the Chief Executive, Miriam Lantsbury, along with music from acoustic musicians and a few additional surprises to entertain, delight and inform.

All proceeds from the day go directly back to supporting those with brain injury, their families and carers.

About 15 Years of Headway East London

Throughout late 2012 and early 2013 Headway East London are running a series of events to coincide with their 15th Birthday. The aim is to raise essential funds whilst increasing awareness of the indispensable work carried out at Headway East London and in the wider community.

Kicking off proceedings on Saturday 29th September with an informative family and community open day at Headway House and taking in a pop up restaurant, an interactive seminar, a live music gig, a January sale, a comedy extravaganza with Jo Brand and culminating in the unique annual fundraiser – The Dance Marathon on Sat 27th April 2013 - Headway East London fully intends to make the most of their Birthday year! By providing brilliant experiences for all who attend any of the many events, and also highlighting the different facets of their challenging, yet hugely beneficial and rewarding work, Headway East London invite you to celebrate with them.
