20 Team GB athletes have been selected by 12 of DegreeArt's most distinct artists to create twenty original pieces of art. Each artist in the 20:12 collective has chosen an athlete or aspect of the games as their muse, and has created bespoke pieces to commemorate London 2012.

The artists have built a relationship with the athletes they worked with and many have had the opportunity to complete traditional sittings – meeting the sportsmen and women – or using photographs endorsed by the athletes to create their portraits. This unique collaboration shows how young emerging artists are being inspired by the Games – and combining two prominent forms of British culture.

The show is being staged by DegreeArt, running until 26 September at the Degree Art Execution Room on Vyner Street.

Athletes depicted include many medal winners: Rebecca Addlington, Ben Ainslie, Christine Ohorougu, Andy Murray, Michael Jamieson, Sir Chris Hoy, Mo Farah, Victoria Pendleton, Alan Campbell, and the Brownlee Brothers.
