After the huge success of our launch party with Richy Ahmed back in March , we are ready to bring you the next installment of Cultured.

We know its been a while since our last party but this time we are very excited to bring you a new venue RELAY (CABLE) and not one... but two established headliners....... One Records frontman Adam Shelton and Dogmatik records owner Alex Arnout.

Relay was forged from Cable's mysterious third arch to cater to the demand for a new standalone space suitable for live shows, as well as DJ performances, in London Bridge. Relay incorporates the same industrial aesthetics present in Cable with it's vast railway arches, metallic air-ducting and exposed brickwork.

Also on the line up we welcome our good friends and regular party goers on the London scene, FACE and Jamie Ward.

ADAM SHELTON (ONE RECORDS, AIR LONDON)

Continuing over the last twelve months to champion music that is true to itself, Adam Shelton has an unshakeable focus on quality underground house. His skills, versatility and range as a DJ have seen him guest at some of the world’s best clubbing spots including Panorama Bar, Cocoon, Glastonbury Festival, Space in Ibiza and most recently Harry Klein in Munich and London clubbing mecca Fabric – but as a producer there is much on offer.

His work with sparring partner Subb_an brings a raw and retro-funk sound, which is clearly demonstrated on their joint EPs. Their label One Records is a stronghold for emerging UK talent, having showcased the sounds of Seelie, Jordan Peak and Death on the Balcony alongside more established, but no less fresh, heads like Geddes, Burnski and Jozif. Additionally trans-Atlantic aficionados Shaun Reeves and Kris Wadsworth have recently contributed. Dreamt up with long time partner Subb-an at The Rainbow Pub, the label aims to encapsulates the vibe of artists and crowds that Adam has connected with most. More than just his literal home, The Rainbow has become a meeting place for likeminded innovators, upstarts and party people from all corners of the country.

With this inexorable drive, it can truly be said that despite having already delivered a great deal, we have still only skimmed the surface of Adam’s talent.

ALEX ARNOUT (DOGMATIK, ONE RECORDS, HOT CREATIONS)

Having started his DJ career in Spain, and in the humble surroundings of many a local bar, the nineties were spent learning the basic skills so often lacking in today’s break-through ‘DJs’. Eventually catching the ear of someone that mattered, Arnout began playing more familiar outposts like DC: 10 and Pin Up in Ibiza, Dance Valley in Amsterdam and Circo Loco in London. On top of that, his finely sequenced journeys through all things house have also won him a residency at London’s definitive Sunday session, Fuse, as well as gigs at the most revered of them all... fabric.

A pure passion for 4/4 (which has been burning ever since first hearing House Sounds of Chicago albums in the mid eighties) naturally lead Alex to begin experimenting with his beloved sound in the studio. Aiming simply to “make great music”, there have also been collabs with Jamie Jones and Clive Henry for the hotter-than-hot Hot Waves crew, whilst EPs for Composite and Vitalik and another collaborative effort with Clive - this time as Black to The Future - have also been confirmed and can be added to the myriad Arnout reworks included on the recent Rebel Rave compilation on Crosstown Rebels. All those accomplishments are commendable on their own, but one of the most important roles Arnout plays in the contemporary electronic scene is as label boss and A&R man for his own decidedly individually label, Dogmatik.

Having inadvertently launched the career of Maya Jane Coles by releasing her first releases, Dogmatik can also count the likes of Glimpse, Peace Division, Afrilounge, Tom Demac, Mark E, Ed Davenport, Stojche and Claire Ripley amongst its friends given the releases and remixes they have contributed to the label’s catalogue since its inception in 2006. “My ethos is to find fresh talent and push them into the scene, always backed by quality remixers” says Alex of the label he runs; the label which has held memorable parties both at Sonar and in Ibiza during recent years. More and more often stepping out of the shadows of engineering, collaborating or running a label, then, the accomplished Arnout is making himself evermore an impossible talent to ignore.
