The Assembly brings you the next instalment of The Monday Club: A Journey into the Secret Life of Nature

The September 10th meeting of the Monday Club will feature two revelatory talks to take you deep into the secret life of nature.

Join us as we eavesdrop upon the conversations of vultures and peek into the invisible world of waves.

Our speakers are:

Chris Watson, the world’s greatest sound recordist. He specialises in wildlife and natural history. He has recorded the grinding emanating from deep within glaciers and the laughter of the hippo, and he will be sharing a few of these raw sounds of nature with us.

Gavin Pretor-Pinney is the founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society and author of the international best-selling The Cloudspotter’s Guide and The Cloud Collector’s Handbook. His follow-up The Wavewatcher’s Companion won the Royal Society Winton Prize for a Science Book. His talk is a visually fascinating and witty biography of the waves that run from the shore, through us and out into the universe.

Your compere will be Matthew De Abaitua, author of The Art of Camping: The History and Practice of Sleeping Under the Stars.
