“What an unexpected, charming and touching delight this new musical is.”
****The Scotsman

As the WINNERS of the Scottish Daily Mail Edinburgh Festival Fringe Drama Award 2012, a group of recent musical theatre graduates have taken the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival by storm with their original devised production The Picture House – A New Musical. After their sell out run in Edinburgh, impressive reviews and nominations for “Best Musical” and “Best Musical Book” they are now preparing for the transfer of this highly successful show to one of London’s newest and most vibrant spaces, The LOST Theatre.

The action starts just before the outbreak of the Second World War when Penny and Oscar Wilkinson buy an old but charming picture house which quickly becomes a success. However war is just around the corner and it is not long before Oscar and the men of the town are called to serve their country. Can the Picture House, which has become the pride, joy and escape of the community, survive the horrors of war?

This touching story will make you laugh and cry as you witness a community’s fighting spirit.

This show consists of original songs and script devised by the cast, which comprises of 12 actors and 3 musicians.

“There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this play, except the fact that it had to end.”
