Enter the world of Mughal India, one of the world's great dynasties, and discover the British Library's stunning collection of manuscripts and paintings. This exhibition will be the first to document the entire historical period, from the 16th to the 19th centuries, through more than 200 exquisite objects. At its peak, the Mughal Empire stretched from Kabul in the east and over most of the South Asian subcontinent.

Uncovering the lives of the emperors, we reveal their lavish courtly life and love of aesthetic beauty. The exhibition will provide a visual feast that explores politics as well as their patronage of the arts and sciences, and monuments such as the Taj Mahal.
