This is one of the most important collection of paintings and drawings by Lowry to be exhibited for many years - some of the works have not been seen in public for over 70 years. The works span Lowry's career, including paintings from every decade from the 1920's to the 1970's. Highlights include 'A Street Orator', a seminal work from 1922,and 'Industrial Landscape of 1934', which shows football crowds converging on the ground. The exhibition shows the full range of Lowry's work, from the familiar to the unexpected, with a series of almost mystical seascapes. Not to be missed!
