Brazilian artist LoRo VeRz comes to London this autumn to celebrate the spirit of Latin America creating designs for brand new Peruvian restaurant Coya, which will opens its doors to diners on 16th November.
Working as an illustrator, designer and humourist his bright and colourful art works connote the bustling streets of South American cities. Working with different surfaces and with different painting techniques, LoRo VeRz fuses graffiti with the tradition of fresco, producing his work site specifically and without any preliminary drawings made to the surface:
“The way I work is very organic, meaning that I create as it comes. I never draw before on the wall or canvas, I just start doing it! Working this way makes the artwork lively, full of good energy with bold lines and fresh!” LoRo VeRz
Since graduating from Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in 2001 he has exhibited in London, New York and Sao Paulo. Recently he has been commissioned by leading sports brands including Adidas and Puma.
Restaurant owner Arjun Waney says “We were very excited to commission Loro Verz for Coya. His work is dynamic and unusual, the restaurant will present a unique dining experience and Loro’s paintings will make the interior as individual as the menu and bring an authenticity from South America.”
