Is that smoked meat we smell...?

Brace yourself for three days of top-notch cuts served by a stellar line-up of some of the country’s greatest meat masters, complimented by live music.

Founded in the US by the late great Josh Ozersky and brought to the UK by chef Richard H Turner, Meatopia is a festival of high quality, ethically sourced meat, all cooked over ethically sourced wood and charcoal by some of the world’s leading top chefs. A weekend-long love affair of meat, drink, fire and music, Meatopia UK has become a legendary event for food lovers.

Curated by Richard H Turner, chefs from around the world will gather at Tobacco Dock and cook with their favourite meats, exploring whole carcasses and creating signature dishes. Each day will feature chef teams with a variety of food backgrounds from America, Asia and across Europe preparing one unique meat-based dish.

1st time to Meatopia London 2014, didn't catch 2013. Concept is great, food really good, portion size inconsistent for £5 per dish, small to ridiculous!! Music was good although not enough around the event, I took 2 kids who go free with a £31.80 adult ticket!!!! there was nothing obvious for kids to do or get involved with. Both ticket & food costs are over priced for what you get & although food very tasty, an event well run, all the costs leave a bitter after taste, not nice. Just feels like greedy promoters!! Be prepare to part with a lot of money!!!!!!! Get past that & you will enjoy.

This event was great, I had a very different experience to the person below. Food was amazing, bands and entertainment were really special and we had a fab day with all our friends. The service needs a tweak here or there but then I guess it was their first year and they are learning. All in all - a really brilliant day out...I'd go so far as to say unique!

Meatopia could have been great had they:

Not sold an additional 500 tickets days a week before the event - food started to run out 3 hours in and the bar approx 6 hours in (query if this is why portions where miniscule as well?)

Not advertised parking which didn't exist.

Not taken to cleaning any unfavourable reviews off of their twitter feed and facebook page.

As it stood, paying £85 for six wee helpings of meat and battling for drinks ('express-lane' was more an 'express-scrum') felt like a total rip-off.
