Food markets in London continue to flourish and, this autumn, Wapping’s Thomas More Square will follow suit – transforming into a bustling marketplace with the launch of a weekly gourmet food market. Taking place every Tuesday from 1st October, the eclectic market is set to provide local workers and residents with a range of delicacies to enjoy during their lunch break, whether stepping out of the office or eating ‘al desko’.

The weekly markets will welcome a host of traders offering delicious artisan food from around the globe. Up to 30 stalls will offer a variety of foods, both indulgent and nutritious, including unique hot and cold delicacies, fine wines and sweet and savoury treats to take home.

John Shepherd of Shepherds Food Markets, who believes that this is further evidence of the revival of markets in London, commented: “It’s an honour to be involved in London’s latest weekly food market at Thomas More Square. As dining enjoys a resurgence, it’s only right that we should bring some of the best artisan traders and their fare to another part of the capital”.

Paul Hunt, Asset Manager at Land Securities, commented: “We’re really excited to be bringing weekly food markets and artisan traders to Thomas More Square, something which workers, shoppers and residents in the area will hopefully see as a real asset. At Land Securities we always strive to create the best environments at our developments, both inside and outside, and this extends to creating great experiences like these weekly food markets.”

In addition to the Tuesday markets at Thomas More Square, Londoners can enjoy weekly Saturday food markets in the heart of the City at nearby One New Change from 11am-5pm.
