Night Tales is a charming venture combining fine food, experimental bar culture and nightlife. Running from Thursday through to Saturday every week up until Christmas - Night Tales invites you to wrap up under the starlight and experience something unique in the heart of East London.

The event sees some of the most loved names from the cities vibrant food scene, all under one roof. Taking residency are Smokey Tails, Southern US BBQ joint - expect a pro- gramme of great music as well as some of the finest ribs and pulled pork in town. Night Tales will also be hosting a hand picked selection of London’s most in-demand restaurants including Patty and Bun who have, in less than a year, carved out a reputation for serving some of Lon- don’s finest burgers. New winners of the Young British Foo- dies Award BAO join the selection to offer up their famous Taiwanese steamed pork buns and soya milk fried chicken from their purpose built six-seater bar. Also in the limelight is the Japanese gyoza bar from Rainbo, with more foodie hotspots to be announced. Beer drinkers are catered for with a wide selection of European Craft Beers, including a smoked London Porter and Krusovice. On the ground floor guests are invited to explore ‘The Negroni Station’ , serving Bourbon Negroni, traditional Negroni and a seasonally sublime warm spice Negroni. In addition to the plethora of chilled beverages, steaming hot drinks will be flowing for those that want to keep warm - Mulled Wine, Hot Spiced Cider & a naughty Absinthe Hot Chocolate.

The landscape is worth checking out alone, with the design and curation distinguishing the event from any other. The pioneering two-tiered structure, which spans over 25m, offers a raised platform mezzanine so you can soak up the atmosphere from above. Intimate seating areas are available on both floors and the space is dressed with warm lighting and planted trees providing the perfect scene for winters new hang-out spot.

The whole ‘show’ takes place in a large disused space only a stone’s throw from Dalston Junction and Kingsland Road. The space also features a WWII Bunker hosting weekly live visual art and a series of interactive exhibitions.

To ensure the winter elements are fully considered, Night Tales is covered with an impressive 25m stretch canopy allowing guests to eat, drink, mingle and be merry under cover. All In London Review

You can’t get hipper than street food and DJs in Dalston

You can’t get much hipper than a gathering of street food vendors and DJs in a disused space in Dalston. Especially when one of the stalls is co-owned by Seth Troxler, one of the world’s most in demand DJs, along with his Visionquest bandmate Ryan Crosson.

We’re referring specifically to Smokey Tails, who do BBQ ribs, creamy mac and cheese, and pulled pork burgers, with juicy meat and red cabbagepiling out of pillowy-soft, glazed brioches. Over at Patty & Bun the Jazzy Jeffrey is even better, a ten-napkin burger with a rare beef patty, smoky bacon, oozing hot cheese sauce and two types of chilli relish. It’s no surprise they’ve got the longest queue; we’d give them top marks if only we could get served a little quicker.

The second busiest stall of the night is Bao, serving steamed, fluffy bunspacked with tender pork belly, chopped peanuts and fresh coriander, as well as fried buttermilk chicken and noodles. Elsewhere there is Rainbo who trade in gyoza, a mezzanine-level tequila bar, and another dedicated to negronis, serving among other things, hot spiced negronis and a killer tipple with dry amontillado sherry and vermouth.

While it’s mostly about the foodDisco Bloodbath are playing on the night we visit, and Troxler and Crosson will be making surprise appearances. Night Tales runs Thursdays to Saturdays till Xmas.
