London Santa Skate

In aid of London’s free skating events and all things festive the LondonSantaSkate is brought to you by LondonSkate and its friends from the London Friday Night Skate (LFNS) and the Sunday Stroll.

First run in December 2005, following the ‘SantaSkob’ of 2004, the LondonSantaSkate continues to be the biggest costumed street skate of the year. Now in its ninth year we aim to attract between 400 and 500 skating Santa’s from as far away as Germany, France and even Lapland!

The fun begins with the distribution of Santa suits at The Monkey Puzzle pub, W2 1JQ from 2pm. The skate assembles from 4:30pm at Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner ready to depart at 5pm.

The nine mile scenic route takes a friendly and leisurely pace past some of London’s iconic landmarks and brings yuletide cheer to people of the city. Half time will be held at Trafalgar Square so bring mince pies and a camera! After a short break the skating Santa’s will return to the streets before finally heading back to the Monkey Puzzle Pub.

The Christmas soundtrack is brought to you by the finest collaboration of radio linked sound systems including the BassFreight, the FireBrox, the ASBOxes and Thumpers I and II. As always the trusty skating reindeer will keep the party vibe going and you will be by looked after by Santa’s very experienced little helpers, the Marshals.

For the after-party fun Santa’s need to make their own way over to this year’s bigger and better LondonSantaSkate Xmas bash at the Star Of Kings on York Way, N1 OAX where our Sound Crew DJs will be mixing it up from 8pm till 2am.

All we ask of you is a donation of £10 and every single penny you give goes back into running free skating events next year. If you need a Santa Suit these are also provided for just £2.50. For this donation you get to be a part of the biggest street skate there is, followed by a Christmas party into the small hours.

Please donate, skaters in their own costumes are kindly asked to still support the street skates. Let us know if you need a Santa Suit as soon as possible to help us cater for demand. All money raised will be used to support London’s free skating events in 2014.
