Zealous X, a unique festival celebrating creativity, is returning to London from the 7th to the 17th January 2016 to showcase the most exciting UK-based creative talent. Taking place at the iconic Rich Mix venue in Shoreditch, visitors will be able to experience creativity through a rich programme of industry talks, engaging workshops and a showcase of incredible talent across the art, design, photography, performance, music, film and interactive and gaming worlds.

Demonstrating imagination and innovation in abundance, visitors to Zealous X will be able to enjoy work from 105 artists including multi-award winning director Martin Stirling, whose provocative and controversial video ‘Most Shocking Second A Day’, depicting the refugee crisis became a YouTube sensation, garnering over 50 million views. Other works include Andrew Reynolds’ collaborative music video project ‘Volta’, which scooped ‘Best Experimental Music Video’ at this year’s Berlin Music Awards.

A changing programme of gigs and live performances will see emerging talent take to the stage, including London-based singer Mahrnie, who recently started working with Grammy Award winning producer Dom Morley and Db Clifford. Visitors will also have the opportunity to get interactive, trialling games such as Henry Hoffman’s virtual reality, sci-fi adventure game ‘Abroad the Looking Glass’, which sees the main protagonist embark on an adventure aboard a timeless vessel.

Brought together by Guy Armitage, the founder of Zealous, an online platform matching innovative talent with opportunity, the stage is now set to transcend the digital sphere, offering the chance to see the best creative talent up close and in person. Visitors can expect to be challenged and inspired by a jam-packed programme of industry talks, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, gigs, performances, films and gaming sessions.

All artists showcasing work have been hand-picked by an independent panel of specialist judges including Jim Bradshaw, Head of Film at the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA), Miguel De Andres Head of Creative Technology at Google EMEA and Francesca Gawin, Contributing Editor at AnOther and Dazed & Confused, to name a few.

Guy Artmitage, CEO of Zealous said: “Zealous X was born out a need to harness the diversity of talent in the UK and give it a physical home. The festival is a time to get inspired and having worked with a talented and fascinating group of judges to reach the line-up of finalists, I’m ecstatic about unleashing their creativity and uniting them under one roof for everyone to discover.”

To ensure that all contributors are supported and rewarded for their time and talents, 51% of ticket sales will go straight to the artists.
