10 Piece high energy soulful Afro-Latin Funk
Formerly known as Kalakuta Millionaires, Lakuta is a truly global mix of musicians who draw on influences from jazz, funk, soul and world music, with a heavy dose of afro-latin vibes.With members hailing from Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Malaysia, Spain and the UK, the 10-piece ensemble reference a wide range of genres in their writing, on a musical journey which blends traditional instruments with a modern sound. Their forthcoming album is due Spring 2016 on the Brighton heavyweight label Tru Thoughts Recordings.

It’s 10 drummers are drawn from the capital’s most famous samba schools, led by renowned director Fred Turuka, they have wowed crowds all over town. The breaks come thick and fast – don’t miss them.
