Artistes Jaya Mehta and Swaati Chattopadhyay, bring to London, the first production of 'Odissi Yatra', the Odissi journey of the most graceful, sculptural and poetic dance style from India.

It is the first time in London, for the premiere of many of the treasure trove of Odissi compositions in the tradition of legendary Guru Surendra Nath Jena. The dances celebrate love in all forms : Chaya, the goddess of shade, waiting for her husband, Surya, the Sun God;

Radha, the passionate learner of music, who asks Krishna, how his flute's melodious notes make the world go round; and Hanuman, who can move mountains with love and devotion to his beloved Lord Ram.

The highlight of the evening will be the duet, 'Hanuman Chalisa', India's most powerful, and popular poem and chant, invoking the Hanuman within. The dance is created by Guru Pratibha Jena Singh, the Guru of the artistes.
