On Sunday 25 June, Belgrave Square Garden will open to the public with the launch of the Belgravia Classic Car Show, presented in association with Chestertons. The event will showcase some of the finest motors throughout history and will be open to ticket holders from 11am until 5pm.

Belgravia’s leafy green centrepiece, a 4.5-acre private garden, which is usually only accessible to residents of the square, will be open for the day to members of the public.

Guests will have the opportunity to explore 100 classic cars, including the Ferrari 250SWB, Rolls Royce P 1 and McLaren 650, and discover an old but not forgotten age of engineering, design, art and history.

Adults will be able to gain entry to the show by purchasing a £10 ticket online, with accompanying children under 10yrs entering for free. During the day guests will be able to enjoy live music and entertainment, with food and beverages available to purchase, all within the beautifully restored garden dating back to 1867.

Originally designed by George Basevi and first planted by Thomas Cubitt in 1826, the gardens have now been restored and often feature temporary art installations.

A number of the cars on show will be exhibited by members of the famous 96 Club, founded by Michael Scott, who began the club as a way to enjoy the delights of driving classic cars without any restrictions. The club soon became an exclusive driving community, with invitation only membership that has often included a few famous faces.

The appeal for classic cars continues to thrive today, with their nostalgia and character still exciting motorists around the world. The draw is often in their distinctive style - the identifiable 50s Chevy Bel Air, for example, with its winged tail light design or the curved edges of the 57 Atlantic Bugatti.
