This workshop is designed by Kilometre Zero to help photographers from all fields and levels to develop an in depth knowledge and practice of Street Photography.

Our expert photographer Stephen Leslie will lead the group through the streets of London and teach you all about Street Photography, from A to Z.

Stephen, based in London and with his photography book SPARKS coming soon, has over 20 years of experience in Street photography and has been featured in numerous magazines and web-sites worldwide.

We will start the workshop with a brief Introduction to the theory and practise of street photography and define what it is that you want to achieve and how is best to go about it.

Once the concept is clear, it is time to take your camera and hit the streets!

What to expect?

Street photography is all about reaction and emotion, what do you look for when you’re out on the streets? This practice workshop will focus on the following points:

1. Spontaneity and anticipation. Learn how to always be prepared and ready to shoot while not attracting attention to yourself.
2. The Power of Composition. How to frame architecture and human presence in its environment and use complementary colours.
3. Narrative. How to identify a potential narrative and spot interesting moments and situations.
4. Subject. How to define the subject of your picture, whether it is a person or a urban setting that elicits visual attraction and emotion.
6. Style. Finding your own voice and style through practice. Tips & tricks.
7. Editing. How to edit and review your work, identifying themes and recurring motifs that will build toward s a strong portfolio.
