On Thursday 20th July, the annual Paddington Dragon Boat Regatta returns to Paddington Basin canal in Merchant Square from 5-9pm. Near the brand new Floating Pocket Park, twenty local companies will take part in the race. Teams of eleven will take to the water in their own Dragon Boat and race the length of the Merchant Square canal with the aim of being first past the finishing line, raising money for children’s charity, COSMIC.

Last year’s race raised over £15,000 for COSMIC and this year we hope to raise even more for this fantastic charity ?which supports the Children’s Intensive Care Unit at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington by helping patients and
?their families, and enabling the dedicated team to treat hundreds of critically ill children from all over London and
?the South East each year.

There is also the chance to win a two night stay in a 5* hotel in Amsterdam with £250 credit for flights/travel in the Paddington rubber duck race. From 12-2pm the same day, donate just £3.00 to enter your duck and watch as they make their journey down the canal. These donations will all go to COSMIC‘s ‘Home From Home Appeal’, enabling parents to be close to their critically ill child and have somewhere to rest from the difficult experience they are going through. Patrons of the charity, Ben Fogle and Fay Ripley, will be designing special ducks that will be raced and auctioned on the day. Launched from St. Mary’s bridge, join in the fun and support this fantastic cause.
