We’ve got a firm AK favourite topping the bill at the O2 Academy Islington in July, along with some new blood that we’re expecting big things from.

Topping the evening’s bill is a hotly tipped act that has impressed promoters Absent Kelly at a previous show. The Garden Party are a fresh and unique Rap/Rock duo from London, who’s heavy, funky guitar lines and snarling raps have seen them compared to the likes of Rage Against the Machine and Asian Dub Foundation.

Providing support is Anita Chellamah. This alt/rock songstress has had quite the musical career with previous bands, including The Cherry Bombz and Toto Coelo, and has played Reading Festival, supported Poison an obtained chart success. After a short break from music, she’s back to embark on a solo career and taking the scene by storm.

Formed in Hong Kong, but now based in London, is The Paisley Daze, a huge six piece that specialise in playing Britpop and mod influenced indie that is infectious and raw. This sound has been gaining them some great reviews and slots at some of the Capital’s best grass roots venues.

Sunday Arches will be there too. A fledgling band from East London, Sunday Arches play highly infectious indie that is turning heads even at this early stage. Their new EP, “Extended Play” is an absolute corker, so we’re expecting big things!
