Sharp Teeth Theatre bring together theatre, storytelling, poetry and music to create a night of riotous Sunday fun.

They’ve had raps about stolen bikes, poems about cottaging, performances from drag kings, new writing about women who climb The Shard, and improvised storytelling about Lance Armstrong getting lost in a bathtub of meat, amongst many other things.

Darcy, Rooke & Hinds
Darcy, Rooke and Hinds are a full female comedy threesome (Soho Theatre Young Company grads). With big props and dance moves to boot, these energetic comedians present a wonderfully wacky mix of sketches, songs and dances.

ELLIE SHOWERING
Ellie is a Bristol based singer, performer and composer who specialises in a capella and music in a theatrical context. Since graduating from Dartington College of Arts in 2009 with a degree in Contemporary Music Performance, her collaborative work has ranged from intimate shows designed for an audience of one to sold out theatre tours across the UK and Europe. Looking to push the limitations of the human voice, she actively seeks out challenging and engaging vocal and performance work. As well as being a singer, Ellie is a multi-instrumentalist with a keen interest in body percussion. Ellie is the Musical Director for Insane Root theatre company.

GECKO
Gecko is a North London based artist, his playful lyrics cover the big things in life; think Grant Mitchell, Libraries & Guanabana fruit juice to name but a few. Gecko has previously appeared at Glastonbury, Bestival, BBC Radio 1, 6 Music & BBC London. In August 2016 he took his debut hour 'A Lizard Goes a Long Way' to the Edinburgh Fringe. He has shared stages with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Robin Ince, Josie Long, John Hegley, & Billy Bragg.

STEPHANIE KEMPSON & ROWAN EVANS
"Once upon a time, or, rather, not... Because this story takes place inside the full stop at the end of one chapter and before the beginning of the next. This is a story which exists in sleep, in the land of dreams."
Stephanie Kempson is the long time host of Sharp Teeth and a storyteller. She's told tales at Bristol Old Vic, The Wardrobe Theatre, Valleyfest, Camden People's Theatre, and Tobacco Factory Theatres, and written for Bristol Old Vic Young Company, Tobacco Factory Young Theatre Makers, Mercurial Wrestler, Part Exchange Co and more. Her work ricochets from the surreal and improvised, to the lyrical and melancholic, and plays with the spoken and the sung. Tonight she'll be peeling apart a story we think we know, to find another adventure hidden within it: what happened to Sleeping Beauty while she was asleep? She'll be accompanied by musician Rowan Evans (Fen Theatre, Tremolo Theatre) who'll be mixing pre-recorded music and live playing, in a gorgeous mix of dark ambient folk music. Rowan is also in popular Bristol band 4th Project. They developed this story through Open Attic Company's Tales in the Attic project and will be touring to care homes in the Autumn.
