*606 Club Special* Wine Tasting + Vocal-led Latin Jazz Feat. Rosanna Brandi-vocals; John Crawford-piano

Well, this is a very interesting and, if the last ones are anything to go by, a really quite special experience. Tonight the 606 presents an evening we're calling "Wine, More Wine & Song" which will showcase wines from Spain's famed Rioja region, along with a bespoke three-course menu and music by Italian singer Rosanna Brandi, pianist John Crawford and their quartet. The wines featured this evening will be supplied by the multi Award-Winning Spanish winemaker Marqués de Riscal, named “European Winery of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast, who will be providing and talking about three of its finest wines, the 2016 Rueda Verdejo, the 2015 1860 Riscal Tempranillo and finally the now, very rare, last available stocks of its 2010 Finca Torrea, widely considered to be one of its most successful Riojas and a standard bearer for the brand. Each wine has its own distinctive character and the food served has been chosen and carefully prepared by our wonderful chefs to mirror its particular taste, personality and history. Our team have come up with some wonderful, homemade, dishes for each section of the evening and we will, naturally, have suitable vegetarian options for each course as well. And being the 606 Club there will, of course, be plenty of music too. Featured this evening will be the terrific singer Rosanna Brandi who will be performing a mix of classic jazz standards, Brazilian music and the occasional melodic original. And alongside her will be 606 regular, pianist John Crawford. Not only is John a fantastic Jazz and Latin pianist but, being half Spanish, he is also the perfect person for this evening's entertainment. So, as well as Rosanna's vocals we have also asked John to perform some music especially for the night with a "Jazz/Spanish" flavour, which should add even more sparkle to an already exciting programme. Accompanying Rosanna and John will be a rhythm section of 606 regulars Richard Sadler (bass) and Simon Pearson (drums). Although it may all sound a little "highbrow" that's certainly not the intention, in true 606 style the idea of the evening is just to have some fun, learn a bit about the winery, get to hear some good music, drink some great wine and eat some terrific food - very much like any other night...just with a bit of a twist.
