The West End’s newest chamber music series, piccadillychamberconcerts.com launches in 2018 with a season of five concerts that presents complete Piano Trios of Ludwig van Beethoven.

The launch concert on Friday January 26th appropriately showcases Beethoven’s very first piano trio and the virtuosic “Gassenhauer” piano trio. These are set alongside one of Haydn’s most influential chamber works, the popular “Gypsy” Trio and the lyrical Notturno by Schubert, who was so greatly influenced by the chamber music of Beethoven. The programme is completed by the highly evocative “The Colour of Blossoms” for piano trio, by british composer, Cecilia McDowall.

Outstanding violinist Rhys Watkins is a member of the LSO and is joined by the prize-winning international cellist Rowena Calvert and concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith, who became the first british pianist to perform Chopin’s complete works from memory in 2016.
