Opera Prelude Young Artist Amy Lyddon (mezzo-soprano) is joined by award-winning collaborative pianist Ian Tindale for a journey through longing, love and loss. Fauré’s sensual Cinq mélodies de Venise form the prelude to Jonathan Dove’s All You Who Sleep Tonight, a beautiful and haunting new cycle of poems by Vikram Seth. Schumann’s exquisite Frauenliebe und -leben tells of love through the female gaze, before songs by Roger Quilter and Eric Coates enchant with their lyrical charm.

Opera Prelude is a small charity passionate about supporting young professional opera singers who give lecture recitals in London. These friendly and inclusive events will introduce you to the international opera singers of tomorrow by way of recitals, concerts and masterclasses.
