History of Gin Tasting at Back Room Bar

Take a trip back in time to the Prohibition era and explore the fascinating story behind everyone’s favourite juniper tipple at the Old Tom Club take over in London’s Back Room Bar.

Maverick Drinks ambassador and gin extraordinaire James Goggin will be your host for the evening as you journey through gin history and unearth the unusual tale behind the Old Tom style.

You’ll embark upon a comprehensive tasting of six distinctly different gin styles – starting with classic genever and London Dry, through to new world craft and beyond – including Filliers Genever, Bathtub Old Tom Gin, and That Boutique-y Gin Company’s Pineapple Gin.

There are two ticket options available for the event:

Standard @ £15.00

Our standard ticket includes a comprehensive tasting lead by Maverick Drinks ambassador and gin extraordinaire James Goggin of six distinctly different gin styles. There will be a bespoke Gin Cocktail Menu of prohibition style cocktails available for purchase as well as our famed pizzas on special for £7.00 all evening.

Premium @ 30.00

Our Premium ticket starts with a palate-whetting French 75 welcome cocktail. Lead by Maverick Drinks ambassador and gin extraordinaire James Goggin, you will then be taken on a journey of six distinctly different gin styles. The premium ticket also includes the mouth watering Back Room Bar Tasting Platter, which features a slice of margherita pizza, slice of bbq pork pizza, a mini beef burger, two hot wings and fries.
