UpRoot is a new play by Andrew Mcpherson which will be performed by Churchill Theatre Young Company as part of part of the International Youth Arts Festival, Kingston (IYAF), 6 -15 July.

It’s summer, and a galvanised and graceless gaggle of teenagers from the suburbs of London attempt to hit the edit button on their collective identity. What better place for Generation Z to find itself than at the urban utopia of the UPROOT music festival. A fast-paced and dynamic piece of new writing excavating the best and worst of what it means to be young right now.

Based at the Churchill Theatre, this magnificent company of young actors have an ever growing reputation for producing professional level plays that inspire, entertain and galvanise. They meet weekly at the Churchill Theatre under the guidance of Andrew McPherson and Katie Greenall.
