Taxi Fares That Are Totally Chiquita Bananas

Londoners looking to make like a banana and split, will find it a little easier next month – as Chiquita is offering the chance to use bananas as taxi fares for one day only.

Lucky taxi riders who flag down a Chiquita Bananas yellow cab can ride free of charge, as long as they present one key ingredient… a banana! What’s more, after being used as a ticket, the banana can also be enjoyed as a healthy, energy boosting snack for the duration of their journey.

The yellow taxis will be stationed around Covent Garden Piazza, on Henrietta and Southampton Street and Holborn tube station from 9am – 5pm on Monday 16th July, and once a banana payment has been received, the passenger will be able to take a free ride to anywhere in zones 1 and 2.

Those individuals looking to travel out of Central London can still cash in on this totally bananas deal. If a trip runs further afield, the driver will simply turn on the meter when leaving Zone 2 so that the fare is still discounted. Top banana!
