Donna Gardier first came to prominence over 25 years ago with the critically acclaimed Soul/Funk album “Reach Out” on Virgin Records and enjoyed hit successes with her singles 'I’ll Be There’ and ‘Real Thing'. She was then asked to join the band “Raw Stylus” recording another critically acclaimed album in the US. Following on from that she appeared on Sting’s album ‘Sacred Love’ leading to a two year world tour with Sting. In 2002 she released her third album ‘Home’ on Dome records, a more ‘Inspirational’ style album written fusing jazz and RnB and which was very well received by both critics and audiences alike. In more recent years, when not busy writing her own material, she has worked with an impressive array of major artists, including the likes of West Life, Tom Jones, Boyzone, Rahsaan Paterson, JT Taylor, Freddie Jackson and Kenny Burk and has been touring on a regular basis with Billy Ocean for some years. The music she will perform tonight will be a mix of classic soul standards and the “crossover” material featured on her album “Home” and the band she has chosen to accompany her this evening includes some of the finest Groove players in the country, including Lex Cameron (Omar)-keyboards, Emlyn Francis (Acantha Lang)-guitar, Nick Cohen (Eurythmics, Roy Ayers)-bass, Perry Melius (Billy Ocean)-drums & Sarah Fonteyne (Stevie Wonder)-vocals. So if you like Soul, Jazz and R&B, with a touch of Gospel thrown in, then this is definitely for you!
