Following the success of 10 sold-out, 5-star reviewed live showcases in the West End throughout 2017, London’s most innovative script development company is poised to announce an exciting new film-making chapter this summer. Screen Rebels will celebrate the launch of their first in-house film-making projects with “Summer Sparkles”, a glitzy soirée at a top-secret central London venue for directors, producers and investors. The company is delighted to host this event in partnership with their key sponsors Virgin Money, Le Rughe wines, Cantina Serboni and charity partner the Independent Film Trust.

Screen Rebels’ unique showcase events have proven a refreshing and successful way for screenwriters to develop their stories and witness a live audience reaction – something most films do not experience until after filming has been completed. Screen Rebels’ troupe of actors, whose credits include Game of Thrones, The A Word and Outlander, have used the showcases to explore extreme characters they may not normally get the opportunity to portray, including ghosts, pirates and even talking tomatoes! Screen Rebels has developed over 40 original screenplays from 14 screenwriters, working with over 45 actors to perform to over 1,000 audience members, who have described the company’s work as featuring, “excellent writing” and “brilliant characters”.

The company will now direct its resources towards producing some of its most popular screenplays across a range of genres.

Founder and Creative Director, Lorenzo Fantini, said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to announce this exciting chapter for Screen Rebels and can’t wait to celebrate this with our guests this August. Screen Rebels has worked hard to develop a core community of exceptionally talented screenwriters, actors and creative partners, and this bold step forward will give us the opportunity to wow new, international audiences with our stories. We’re very grateful to Virgin Money, Le Rughe and Cantina Serboni for their support and I’m especially proud that we will be supporting the Independent Film Trust with our celebrations.”

In addition to the chance to learn more about Screen Rebels’ achievements and future projects, the evening will feature live piano performed by touring European musician Matt Burns, and a prize draw with gifts generously donated by the event’s premier Italian wine sponsors.
