Named after one of most outstanding instrumentalists of Spanish music history, the Quiroga Quartet has established itself as one of the most dynamic and unique quartets of its generation, winning international acclaim from critics and audiences alike for its distinctive personality as well as its bold and original approach to the string quartet repertoire. The quartet’s programme offers the chance to hear music from the “Spanish Mozart” Arriaga, Argentina’s most important 20th century composer Ginastera and contemporary Spanish composer Halffter who has, amongst many things, been awarded Spain’s highest award for composition.
This event is organised in collaboration with the Iberian & Latin American Music Society, the Instituto Cervantes as part of Echoes Festival 2018 and the Europa Project with the kind support of the CNDM .
